Unilight has announced a range of compatible LED tubes that directly replace fluorescent tubes in existing fixtures. The new tubes which are rated at 12W, 20W, 25W and 30W are available in 2foot, 4foot and 5foot lengths. These tubes are designed for users who do not wish to change the fixtures but who do wish to benefit from lower energy consumption. A further benefit is that the tubes generate between 15% and 45% more light than the equivalent fluorescent light. The performance of a fluorescent tube falls off within the first 6 months after installation. An LED tube on the other hand will perform at its optimum for most of its working life.These new tubes are compatible with fixtures containing inductive ballast only.
